February 29, 2008 authorities confirmed the presence of ricin in an Extended Stay America room west of the strip in Las Vegas. The patient reportedly called 911 on February 14, 2008 complaining of respiratory distress and an AMR crew transported the patient to a local emergency department. These personnel to date have not been affected. Learn more about ricin to protect yourself in the event you are asked to evaluate and treat persons under suspicious circumstances.
